Low-Dose Computer X-Ray

Our office uses a new digital computer x-ray system that offers advantages for our patients as well as for the doctor. For the patients, the amount of radiation needed to take an x-ray is reduced by 90%, or, in other words, only 10% of the radiation necessary for a conventional x-ray is used to take a computerized digital film. For the doctor, advantages include better film clarity, magnification of images (which allows for diagnosis of smaller problems earlier) and the ability to measure bone density. Digital computerized x-rays offer a significant improvement in diagnosis ability over the conventional x-ray. They are also safer for the environment as we use no film, developing chemicals or processor to obtain these images.
