Early detection and treatment of gum disease is important to the final outcome and is made easier by the use of new technology we use in our office. A gentle measuring device is used to measure gum pocket depths as well as recording any additional signs of inflammation. I If early signs of gum disease are detected, we usually begin treatment with a non-surgical approach in addition to antibacterial rinses and/or nutritional supplements. We are also highly skilled in correlating gum disease and bone density loss with women’s hormonal changes, especially during menopause. Sometimes referral to a physician is needed to accurately determine treatment needs.
