Our office uses the KCP 2000 system for conservative cavity preparations without the use of the dental hand piece (drill). The KCP uses a stream of air with abrasive particles to create the cavity preparation. The extremely small cavity preparation is restored with a bonded tooth colored filling. The KCP also has a xenon laser-like light source for curing (hardening) of the tooth colored plastic filling, making the filling ready for immediate use. This is one of the most conservative new techniques that high-tech dentistry has to offer.
